Bioinformatics Group at IMCS

The research group in bioinformatics currently involves 5 researchers, 3 software engineers and 2 PhD students. Group activities include participation in several bioinformatics projects funded by Latvian Council of Science and in EU project MolPAGE. There are also several bioinformatics databases/webservices developed by and hosted at IMCS. The research areas of the group include modelling of gene regulatory networks, reconstruction of genetic networks from experimental data, protein structure comparison, visualisation of biological networks. Group is also involved in development of databases and software systems. Group members are teaching bioinformatics courses in University of Latvia and Latvian University of Agriculture.
