Downloads of the latest versions of SIMS and AIMS software

The downloads contained on this page provides access to the last relatively well tested and stable versions of the software. If you install the software for the first time using of these versions are strongly recommended. The upgrades of these versions are planned approximately 1-2 times a year.

The history of updates, features under development and downloads of previously released versions are availbale here. Newer versions with some additional features might be available upon request.

The usage of the SIMS and AIMS software is governed by the GNU AFFERO GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE.

The following software components are available for download:

Sample Information Management System (SIMS)

Currently three different configurations of SIMS are avilable: SIMS_T2D configured for Type 2 Diabetes with Persons->Samples->Aliquots hierarchy (providing some features for tracing aliquot locations), SIMS_MS configured for Metabolic Syndrome with Persons->Visits->Samples hierarchy and SIMS_AD configured for Autoimmune Disease with Persons->Visits->Samples hierarchy. Each of these versions require a different database scheme. If you wish to create your own configuration of SIMS, generally you can do it by starting from and modifying any of these versions.

Before downloading you can try the online demo versions (providing read only access - use login name "test" and password "test"): SIMS_T2D, SIMS_MS, SIMS_AD.

The following components of SIMS are available:

The parts that differs for different SIMS configurations are the following: hibernate mapping files in sims.hibernate package (both in Java source files and Tomcat deployments), JSP file fragments in jspf directory (Tomcat deployments), "conf/systemConst.xml" file (Tomcat deployments, used from version 2.14), database scripts and metadata files. Note that currently the only distinction between Java source packages are hibernate mappings included there, not the Java files themselves.

All downloads (apart from documentation) are packaged as ZIP files.

Metadata files are relatively independent from SIMS versions, but are specific for each of SIMS configurations. The provided documentation is not configuration specific.

Technology configurations are relatively independent from AIMS versions. The currently available sets include the configurations for the following technologies: empty (provided just for convenience of AIMS initialisation, if a user wants to create just his own technology configurations), Bisulfate sequencing, CLINPROT MS, Genotyping, LC-MS, Microarray, NMR, Protein Array, Suspension Bead Array, Tissue Array. The "maturity" of configurations for different technologies may vary.
